THE MAIN EVENT

The main event of the Athens Twilight, the men's and women's criterium, features cyclists representing teams from all over the nation and the world. The men's criterium is a 80-km race around historic downtown Athens. The course start-finish is on Clayton Street at College Avenue. The 1 kilometer course runs clockwise on Clayton, Lumpkin, Washington and Thomas. With 2007 winner Mark Hekman returning back with a professional contract, and the high speed action of night time criterium racing, this year promises to be the best yet.

THE best women in the country look to kick off the second inaugural USA Crits SE Series for women at the Athens Twilight. Watch for Jen McRae to defend her title as Tina Pic and the Colavita-Sutterhome presented by Cooking Lite women and others chase for the coveted spot on top of the podium.

With $150,000 in prize money on the line for the USA Crits Series, the Athens Twilight Criterium is dubbed the most insane criterium in the world. Don't miss a minute of the evenings events.

The Oconee River Greenway Circuit is a 1.3 mile, 4 corner circuit, with two long straights that encircles the Greenway Park between East Broad Street and North Avenue. It is fast with an open uphill sprint finish to the Greenway Overlook on smooth pavement. Great venue on the outskirts of Downtown! Close to the all day Athens Twilight festivities and Twilight Headquarters.

The Amateur Finals is the big kick-off for Saturday night's downtown feature events! The top finishers (from each category) from the USCF qualifying races will take to the streets Saturday, April 26th and compete for more than $3,000 in cash and prizes. This is the start of all the Twilight excitement as these racers compete in the 1-kilometer loop in front of the crowds in downtown Athens.
